Assistant General Counsel

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is now accepting applications for the following position in the Office of the General Counsel.
ASSISTANT GENERAL COUNSEL
Under the direction of the General Counsel, is responsible for assisting with all of the legal matters of the Authority and its Board of Directors. Further, the Assistant General Counsel assists with the day to day operations of the Office of the General Counsel and the Contract Administration Department.
The fundamental reason that this position exists is to address and/or oversee all litigation matters affecting the Authority. The Assistant General Counsel shall perform such other related duties as assigned by the General Counsel, and in the absence of the General Counsel. Work is to be performed with considerable independence and initiative with the widest possible latitude for the exercise of professional judgment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited law school, four years experience in law practice, either governmental or non-governmental, with either an LLB or Juris Doctorate degree and certificate of admission to the Bar of the Virgin Islands, including three years of trial experience. Trial experience must include jury and bench trials in civil and/or criminal matters.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
