WAPA ANNOUNCES ADJUSTED OPERATING HOURS AT

CUSTOMER SERVICE LOCATIONS NEXT WEEK

           The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority announces adjusted operating hours at its customer service office locations in both districts next week to allow staff participation in employee meetings.

            On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, the St. John customer service office at The Marketplace will be closed until 2:30 p.m., while on St. Thomas, the customer service office at Port of Sale Mall will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  At both locations, normal operating hours will resume on Wednesday, February 19, 2020.

            On Friday, February 21, 2020, the customer service office at Sunny Isle, St. Croix will be closed between of 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Normal operating hours will resume on Monday, February 24, 2020.

            WAPA apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the adjusted operating hours.

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is an autonomous agency of the Virgin Islands Government which produces and distributes electricity and drinking water to residential and commercial customers in the territory. WAPA was created by the Fifth Legislature of the Virgin Islands in 1964 through Act No. 1248. Today, WAPA generates electrical power at production plants on St. Thomas and St. Croix, and distributes electrical service through smart grids to customers on St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John, Hassel Island, and Water Island. Potable water is distributed to almost 13,000 customers through water lines and standpipes. WAPA also has the responsibility of installing and maintaining street lights.
