WAPA TO CONDUCT EMERGENCY LEAK DETECTION SURVEY IN NISKY AND CONTANT ON SATURDAY

12/12/2008

PRESS RELEASE

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is advising its St. Thomas water customers that WAPA will be performing an emergency leak detection survey in the Estate Nisky and Contant areas tomorrow, Saturday, between the hours of 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. Areas affected include Nisky Center to John Thomas Funeral Home to Banco Popular on Harwood Highway, Soto Town and adjacent areas. During Saturday’s leak detection survey period, customers in the designated areas can expect water interruptions throughout the day, as technicians isolate possible leaks. The survey will assist personnel in reducing water system losses.

Every effort will be made to limit the water service interruptions as much as possible. Motorists are urged to drive very carefully in the work areas for the safety of water crews and the general public.
