Over the last several years WAPA has dedicated significant resources to see these Projects come to fruition. For WAPA, the work it is performing at these sites exemplifies our commitment to developing and implementing long-term changes needed to reduce the Territory’s utility costs while dramatically increasing service reliability. A key component to WAPA’s efforts in obtaining its goals is the relocation of electrical lines and related hardware from aerial pole attachments to more reliable underground infrastructure. In addition to the electrical renovations, WAPA is moving forward with replacing aging sections of its water distribution system with new piping. As such these Projects are major steps needed to strengthen infrastructure and mitigate costs associated with damaging storms which will equate to far-reaching Territorial benefits.
