WAPA Announces Holiday Customer Service Hours

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority has announced the customer service office schedule throughout the territory from December 24 to January 8, for the Christmas holidays and Governor’s inaugural activities.

Monique Lynch, Director of Customer Service, is reminding WAPA customers that offices will close at noon on Christmas Eve, Friday, December 24.  Since the Authority will be disconnecting water and electric service for non-payment throughout this week, it is very important for customers who require reconnections to make payments at the cashier windows, in the drop boxes located outside the offices, or on WAPA’s website before noon on Friday, Lynch said.   To accommodate customers this Friday, payment windows on St. Thomas and St. Croix will open at 7:30 a.m. and on St. John at 8 a.m.

Customer hours will be as follows:

  • All offices will be closed on Saturdays, December 25, January 1, and January 8.
  • Monday-Thursday December 27-30    All offices open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Friday, December 31   All offices close at noon--New Year's Eve
  • Monday, January 3   St. Thomas and St. John offices closed  for inaugural activities. St. Croix office open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, January 4   St. Croix office open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. St. Thomas and St. John open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 5   St. John office closed. St. Croix office open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (J’ouvert) St. Thomas office open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, January 6   All offices closed--Three Kings Day
  • Friday, January 7         St. Croix office closed-Children’s Parade St  John office closed. St. Thomas office open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Monday, January 10   All offices open. Payment windows on St. Croix and St. Thomas open at 7:30 a.m. St. John office opens at 8 a.m.

Automated water standpipes will be open 24 hours a day throughout the territory.
