8:30 A.M. Alert: WAPA MAINTAINS WATER SCHEDULE TODAY WHILE WORKING TO PUSH WATER TO ST. THOMAS' EAST END

(Monday, December 26, 2011)

ALERT: 8:30 A.M.

WATER MAINTAINS WATER SERVICE SCHEDULE WHILE WORKING TO GET WATER TO MORE AREAS

The Virgin Islands Water and Power will continue to pump and gravity feed water to customers on St. Thomas today. Every effort is being made to build storage and water pressure in order to push water to areas on the East End without water service.  WAPA anticipates that water to the scheduled areas will maintain improved flow today as the system continues to recharge, however, higher elevations may still experience some difficulty in receiving service.

Today’s schedule is as follows

December 26

6– 10 a.m.

Altona, Anna’s Fancy, Savan, Veste Gade, Garden St., Bunker Hill, Main St.

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Hospital Ground, Ross Taananberg, Havensight, Upper Contant (Contant Knolls)

2 – 6 p.m.

Sugar Estate, Estate Thomas

6-10 p.m.

Sub-Base, Frenchtown, Contant, Lindberg Bay

Technicians continue repairs around the clock on boilers in the Harley power plant in order to increase water production.  WAPA remains committed to remedying this situation as soon as possible.
