4 P.M. ST. THOMAS WATER SCHEDULE UPDATE FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

(Friday, December 30, 2011)

ALERT 4:00 P.M.

WAPA ISSUES UPDATED  ST. THOMAS WATER SCHEDULE FOR DECEMBER 30-31

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is updating its water service schedule on St. Thomas effective until further notice. WAPA has been making every possible effort to maintain the schedule at the time and location published, however, it is important for customers to understand that conditions in the field change very often depending on customer usage and water pressure in any one area. The designated times should be considered approximate, as it may take time to divert water from one location to another, however every effort is being made to maintain the two hour intervals. At this time, the schedule is as follows:

December 30, 2011

  •          4 – 6 p.m.

Sugar Estate, Estate Thomas

  •          6 – 8 p.m.

Contant Knolls, Lindbergh Bay

  •          8 – 10 p.m.

Hospital Ground, Ross Taananberg, Havensight, Garden St., Bunker Hill

Please note that, regrettably, the Bovoni,Tutu Housing, and Annas Retreat communities cannot be confirmed for this evening as there remains insufficient water storage in the Donoe tank. The Authority will continue to pump to the Donoe tank until it reaches adequate levels

December 31, 2011

  •          6 – 8 a.m

Annas Fancy, Savan, Veste Gade, Main St.

  •          8 – 10 a.m.

Subbase, Frenchtown, Contant, Altona

  •          4 – 6 p.m.

Sugar Estate, Estate Thomas

  •          6 – 8 p.m.

Contant Knolls, Lindbergh Bay

  •          8 – 10 p.m.

Hospital Ground, Ross Taananberg, Havensight, Garden St., Bunker Hill

.

Customers with water service are asked to use water thoughtfully, as doing so will assist in the ability of others to also receive water.  The public is urged to immediately report any water leaks noticed throughout St. Thomas to 775-5873 so they may be repaired promptly.

Again, WAPA reminds its customers that it is doing its best to maintain the schedule, however, events in the field may determine if further revisions are needed. The Authority will continue to update the community as any changes are made. Work continues in the Randolph E. Harley Power Plant to increase water production. Schedule updates are available at www.viwapa.vi, through VI-Alert text messages and emails, radio stations, and by dialing (340) 774-3552 and pressing #6 for a recorded message.
