ALERT: 12:45 PM - SERVICE RESTORED TO SOME FEEDERS ON ST. THOMAS

(Wednesday, February 08, 2012)

Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority plant personnel are working to bring units at the Randolph E. Harley Power Plant back on line after they unexpectedly tripped offline this morning.

Service interruptions to Feeder 7B and 9D have been restored.

Service interruptions will continue to the following areas until further notice.

  • Portions of Feeder 6A – From UVI to the western part of the island and Scott Free
  • Portions of Feeder 7A – Altona, Sorgenfri, Dorothea, Bonne Resolution, Caret Bay and neighboring areas
  • Portions of Feeder 8B – Peterborg and neighboring areas
  • Portions of Feeder 9E – Mongoose Junction and neighboring areas

Customers are asked to be conservative in their energy use today in order to lessen the system load demand, which will assist in restoring service as soon as possible to those areas presently without service.

WAPA regrets the service interruptions and will make updates as they become available.
