Water Service Interruption on Friday and Monday for Anna's Hope

(Thursday, March 01, 2012)

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is advising St. Croix residents in Estate Anna’s Hope that water service will be interrupted  on Friday, March 2,  and Monday, March 5, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. During these work periods, the Authority’s contractor, Rotating Equipment Inc., will be tying in the new waterline to the existing line.

The Estate Anna’s Hope construction began last November and includes the installation of approximately 2,200 linear feet of 4-inch PVC and 2,800 linear feet of 6-inch PVC waterlines. The project, funded by a Territorial Drinking Water Capital Improvement Program Grant in the amount of $523.291, is scheduled for completion in May. Customers in Anna’s Hope will realize greatly improved water quality once the project is fully completed.

Motorists travelling in the area on Friday and Monday are asked to drive cautiously and follow traffic directions to ensure the safety of the crews, pedestrians and other motorists. WAPA appreciates the understanding of the public during this service enhancement project and will make every effort to restore water service as soon as possible.
