WAPA Schedules Network System Shutdown This Weekend for Relocation Purposes

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority will continue this weekend with the relocation of some of its facilities that remain in the area of the fire damaged Subbase building on St. Thomas. As a result of the impending move, a few online services will be unavailable, territory-wide, beginning this Friday, June 8 at 6 p.m. until Monday, June 11 at 8 a.m.   

During the above-mentioned times, customers will be unable to:

  • Log on to www.viwapa.vi for information and updates
  • Pay their bills online
  • Receive email responses from WAPA personnel until Monday morning

For any emergencies during this time, customers are asked to call the Line Department in the St. Thomas/St. John District at (340) 774-1424 or on St. Croix at (340) 773-0150. Updates will also be available via WAPA’s Facebook page or by dialing (340) 774-3552 and pressing #6 for operational updates.

Customers are reminded that payments are also accepted by check or money order at the outside drop boxes, at participating banks, or by U.S. mail using the return envelope attached to the billing statement. Customer Service will resume normal operations on Monday, June 11 at 7:30 a.m. on St. Croix, and at 8 a.m. on St. Thomas and St. John, where Cashiers will be available to accept payments at that time.

The Authority appreciates the patience of its customers while this relocation process continues. Once all departments are situated in their new buildings, WAPA will update its customers of their locations.
