WAPA ELECTRIC SERVICE UPDATE—12 a.m.

WAPA CONTINUES ST. THOMAS ELECTRIC SERVICE RESTORATION FRIDAY

Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority line crews on St. Thomas responded to the majority of trouble calls received from customers on Thursday and will complete restoration work in various locations today. Weather permitting, crews will work in Crown and Hawk, Neltjeberg, Lerkenlund, Elizabeth, Mandahl,  and other areas replacing blown transformer fuses, and  repairing downed  lines, some located in dense areas difficult to reach at night.  Line crews will begin work at 7 a.m.

Residents are urged to stay away from lines found on the ground. Assume all lines are energized and immediately call WAPA’s emergency call center at 340-774-3552 and press #4 for assistance. Customers can also report electric or water problems by clicking on the red button at  www.viwapa.vi

WAPA appreciates the understanding of its customers during this restoration period from the passing of Tropical Storm Isaac.
