Whim Waterline Rehabilitation Project Progress Update

(Tuesday, September 11, 2012)

WAPA ALERT

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is informing motorists that Virgin Islands Paving Inc., will perform a waterline tie-in on Queen Mary Highway as work continues on the Whim Waterline Rehabilitation Project. On Wednesday, September 12, 2012, the eastbound lane of Queen Mary Highway at the Whim/Concordia intersection will be closed. On Thursday, September 13, 2012, both lanes will be closed to traffic and rerouted through Estate Concordia. The contractor will be crossing the road with the waterline to Estate Whim. Construction hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No water interruptions are expected during this period.

To ensure the safety of the crews, pedestrians and other motorists in the area, motorists are asked to drive cautiously and follow all traffic directions. WAPA appreciates the understanding of the public during this capital water service enhancement project.
