WAPA MONITORING TROPICAL WEATHER SYSTEM

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is monitoring the possible development of a tropical weather system that may bring strong gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall over portions of the Lesser Antilles and the Virgin Islands during the next day or two. The Authority’s storm response teams are prepared and will respond as quickly as possible to any events in the field that may create service interruptions.

Customer calls to the emergency numbers can be made in the St. Thomas/St. John district to 340-774-1424 or on St. Croix to 340-773-0150. Messages can also be sent via the Authority’s website at www.viwapa.vi. WAPA recommends that customers also sign up for V.I. Alert at www.vialert.gov for updated information by email or text message . Informational updates will also be available by calling  773-2250 on St. Croix or 774-3552 on St. Thomas and press #6 for special operational messages.
