The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is advising its St. Croix customers of a power interruption to a portion of Feeder #10 this Friday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. WAPA line crews will repair damaged sections of the feeder’s Hendrix Cable, which is an insulated, high-voltage, overhead wire that is used to run lines through areas that are heavily populated with trees. The Authority will perform this preventative maintenance in an effort to reduce the frequency of power outages currently caused by the friction between overgrown trees and power lines.

The affected areas will include: Hard Labor, Two Friends, Mt. Pellier West, Prosperity, Orange Grove West, Mt. Victory Camp and Estate Nicholas.

Every effort will be made to restore service as quickly as possible. Motorists in the area are urged to follow traffic directions for the safety of crews, pedestrians, and other vehicles in the area. The Authority appreciates the understanding of customers affected by this work intended to continue reliability of service to the affected area.
