The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority has scheduled a water service interruption for Saturday, February 23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Kanal and Regjerings Gade areas of St. Thomas.  While service is suspended, WAPA crews will transfer a six- inch water line on Kanal Gade to the new twelve-inch water line that runs west to east from General Gade to Market Square.

Customers are urged to store water today for use during the service interruption period. WAPA appreciates the understanding of the public during this water service enhancement project and will make every effort to restore service utilizing the new water line as quickly as possible.

The Market Square waterline rehabilitation project consists of the installation of approximately 650 linear feet of new 12-inch PVC water lines on Kronprindsens Gade from General Gade to Guttets Gade. This project will improve water quality in the town area. The waterline, funded through property taxes at a cost of $160,000, is being installed in conjunction with the Market Square Beautification Project.
