Service Interruption Scheduled for Sunday to Sections of Feeder 10B

(Friday, February 07, 2014)

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) and Bryan Electrical Contracting Corp., have scheduled both water and electric service interruptions on Sunday, February 9, from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Water customers serviced by the Havensight Pump Station, to include customers at the Frenchman’s Reef and the Cove, as well as a small section of feeder 10B customers will be affected as crews continue to install the necessary infrastructure on new riser poles for the Frenchman’s Bay Underground Project.

All overhead lines from Mandela Circle to the Havensight Pump station will be relocated underground.  Preparations will also be made to relocate the primary service for the pad mount transformer, which feeds the pump station, to an existing manhole in the vicinity.

Every effort will be made to restore service as quickly as possible.  The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the service interruptions and appreciates the understanding of its customers while the project continues.

This Frenchman’s Bay Overhead Distribution Project is funded through a grant from the Department of Public Works’ Federal Highway Administration, and is scheduled to be completed in April 2014.
