St. Thomas Frenchman's Bay Distribution System Update

(Sunday, March 09, 2014)

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority and Bryan Electrical Contracting Corp., will continue working on the Frenchman’s Bay distribution system during the evening and overnight hours on Monday, March 10.  Beginning at 7 p.m. until 4 a.m., crews will work in the electrical manholes in the area of Mandela Circle to terminate high voltage cables. There is no anticipated electrical service interruption and no pedestrian obstructions. Vehicular traffic will continue in both directions with the assistance of flaggers.

For the next week, until March 15, crews will work daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from Mandela Circle to the Havensight Mall’s main entrance, performing high voltage cable installations and terminations.  There will be no service interruptions and no vehicular or pedestrian obstructions.

This Frenchman’s Bay overhead distribution project is funded through a grant from the Department of Public Works’ Federal Highway Administration, and is scheduled to be completed in April 2014.
