St Thomas Beltjen Offices Move to Four Winds

(Monday, May 26, 2014)

Customers Urged to Use Alternate Payment Methods During Renovations

The office complex at Beltjen Road on St. Thomas, in which the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority’s Customer Services, Collections, Revenue Assurance and Meter Reading Offices are located, was recently sold. The new property owners informed the Authority of their plans to renovate the property and gave the Authority notice to vacate. As a result, Executive Director Hugo V. Hodge, Jr., sought and received authorization from the Governing Board, to negotiate and enter into a lease with Four Winds Plaza Corporation for 7,900 square feet of office space in the Four Winds Plaza.

Large-scale renovations, using heavy equipment and large machinery, have commenced at the Beltjen Rd. location.  This has resulted in increased congestion, extremely limited parking for customers as well as employees, and possible complications for individuals traversing the area.

While the Authority works rapidly to relocate the offices from Beltjen Rd. to the Four Winds Plaza, customers are asked to refrain from parking at the Bluebeard Castle premises to avoid the possibility of having their vehicles towed. Additionally, customers are reminded, and urged, to use alternate payment options, which include making payments at local banks; mailing a check or money order using the envelope included with the billing statement; or making online payments at www.viwapa.vi.  To secure a password for online payments, send an email to customerservice@viwapa.vi.

The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this relocation and ensures customers that everything is being done to rectify this situation as quickly as possible.
