Potable Water Line Rehabilitation - Upper Contant

(Tuesday, September 23, 2014)

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority has scheduled potable waterline rehabilitation in Upper Contant, St. Thomas, from Wednesday, September 24, through Friday, October 10.  During that time, WAPA crews will work weekdays to replace an old 4” cast iron pipe, which was installed in 1963, with a new 4” plastic C-900 pipe in the Upper Contant area, behind the MCH Building.  The new pipe will improve water quality, increase service pressure and reduce line loss.

While crews are working, there will be no thru traffic in the area, and no parking will be allowed along the roadway. Residents are asked to remove all vehicles from the roadway prior to Wednesday, September 24.  Motorists and residents are asked to obey all traffic signs in the area for the safety of the crews.

There will be no potable water service interruptions as a result of this rehabilitation.  As the rehabilitation project continues, further updates will be issued as required.

The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this traffic interruption. For additional information, contact the Water Department at 775-5873.
