WAPA TO TIE IN TEMPORARY 12 INCH PVC BYPASS AT RICHMOND PUMP STATION  

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is advising its St. Croix water customers that WAPA will tie-in a temporary12 inch bypass water line on Monday 27th October and Tuesday 28th October.  The bypass line will be used to provide water from a temporary pump skid at the Richmond Pump Station to customers while WAPA’s Contractor VIPAVING INC. works on upgrading WAPA’s current Transmission Manifold from a 16 inch main to a 24 inch main.  

On Monday 27th, October 2014, customers located between Christiansted and Kingshill will experience water service interruptions between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.  On Tuesday 28th, October 2014, customers located between Golden Rock and Dolby Hill area will experience water service interruptions between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.  The bypass is anticipated to  remain in service until the new 24 inch transmission manifold is completed and placed in service.  The completion date for the new 24 inch transmission main is November 24th, 2014.
