Emergency Service Interruption on Sunday to Small Section of Sector 3 Emancipation Garden Area on St. Thomas

(Saturday, November 29, 2014)

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority has scheduled an emergency service interruption for Sunday, November 31, to a small section of St. Thomas sector 3/feeder 6B: the Emancipation Garden area.

From 5 a.m. to 11 a.m., electrical service to the Fire Station, The Frederick Lutheran Church and the Edith Bornn Building will be interrupted while line department crews work adjacent to the Fire Station to replace a rotten pole and transformer bank, with a new pole.

This work is being done to ensure pedestrian safety in the area and to improve system reliability. Motorists are asked to proceed cautiously in the area and to follow flagger’s instructions for the safety of crews, pedestrians and other drivers.

The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this temporary service interruption. Every effort will be made to restore service as quickly as possible.
