WAPA to Continue Trenching for Downtown C’sted Streetlight Project

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority and Zenon Construction crews will continue micro-trenching in Christiansted on Wednesday, February 11. From 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., vehicular traffic on Strand Street from Queen Cross to King Cross Street, as well as Queen Cross Street between Strand and King Street, and Strand Lane will be rerouted while crews trench the roadway to install conduits to facilitate the downtown streetlight project.
Motorists are asked to follow signs and the flagger’s instructions for the safety of crews, pedestrians and other drivers.
There will be no electrical service interruption as a result of this work in the area.
Every effort will be made to restore normal vehicular traffic as soon as possible. The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this traffic disruption.
