Scheduled Service Interruption to Downtown C'sted

(Wednesday, March 16, 2016)

WAPA Schedules Electrical Service Interruption for Downtown C’sted Friday; Installation of Underground Switches and Submersible Transformer

On Friday, March 18, from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., electrical service will be interrupted to a small section of customers on St. Croix Feeder 1A, while the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority crews install underground switches and a submersible transformer in downtown Christiansted. Crews will install underground switches at the intersection of Prince and Strand Streets, and a submersible transformer at the intersection of Company and Market Streets. The Authority elected to perform this necessary service at a time that would minimize the effect of electrical service interruption to businesses in downtown C’sted.

Motorists traversing the areas where work is being performed are asked to follow signs and the flagger’s instructions for the safety of crews, pedestrians and other drivers.

The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this service interruption and ensures customers that every effort will be made to restore electrical service as quickly as possible.
