St. Thomas Water Service Interruption Scheduled for Monday

     Altona Area from Banco Popular to Gottlieb Gas Station


The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority announces a water service interruption for a portion of the St. Thomas Altona area on Monday, April 25, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Customers in the Altona area, from Banco Popular to Gottlieb Gas Station, including the Scotia Bank and Medical Arts Complex, will experience water service interruption while contractor Islands Roads Corporation ties in a 6-inch waterline to the 8-inch main on the Harwood Highway, for the Contant Midtown rehabilitation project.  The project is funded by an EPA grant which was award for $1 million to improve water quality and system pressure in the Contant area. Approximately 200 customers will experience improved water quality once the rehabilitation is complete.  

            Customers are urged to store adequate water for use during the scheduled service interruption.         

           The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this water service interruption and ensures customers that every effort will be made to restore water service as quickly as possible.
