Scheduled Power Outage for Feeders 7C and 9C on St. Thomas Tomorrow

ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS (March 25, 2025) – The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or the “Authority”) announces a scheduled power outage tomorrow, March 26, 2025, from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for emergency work to restore a major transmission line and distribution feeders on St. Thomas in the Smith Bay area. Approximately 4,036 customers will be impacted on Feeder 7C and 9C. The following areas and surrounding residents will be affected:


  • Cassi Hill
  • Smith Bay
  • Coki Point
  • Lake’s Chicken Fry
  • Margaritaville
  • Point Pleasant
  • Sapphire Hotel
  • American Yacht Harbor

The following areas will only be impacted for approximately 30 minutes from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.:


  • Ivanna Eudora Kean High School
  • Frydenhoj
  • Food Center
  • Virgin Islands Montessori School
  • Cowpet Bay
  • Red Hook Plaza

 

The Authority typically schedules outages outside of work and school hours to minimize disruption; however, this critical work is necessary to ensure the reliability of the electrical system and must be completed during this timeframe.
