The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is advising customers in the Golden Rock, La Grande Princesse, Little Princesse, Richmond and Contentment areas, that a water service interruption has been scheduled from midnight on Saturday, October 20, to 5 pm on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Customers are urged to store adequate water for use during this service upgrade interruption.

The Authority will be placing the Richmond Pump Station offline in order to change (5) five critical 12 inch valves in the Golden Rock area. Three valves will be changed at the Golden Rock Stop Light, one along the Northside Road near the Casino Commission and one along Rout Route 753 near the J Benton Office Building.

This system upgrade will assist the Authority as its Contractor transitions into activating the new 24 inch water main from Richmond to Catherine’s Rest. Customers in Questa Verde, Catherine’s Rest, Work and Rest, Humbug and Recovery Hill may also experience low to no water pressure during the outage.

Motorist are asked to adhere to all traffic directions as traffic will be rerouted. The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this water service interruption, and advises its customers that this will be the first of a series of interruptions needed within the next three weeks to fully activate the new 24 inch water line.
