ROAD CLOSURES IN EFFECT IN FREDERIKSTED ON MONDAY POTABLE WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION IS NOT ANTICIPATED

Road closures will be in effect on Queen Cross, East, King and Customs House Streets in Frederiksted, St. Croix on Monday, June 7, 2021, and traffic flow will be detoured.

During the road closures, water system personnel will determine the extent to which any service interruptions may be necessary for a contractor to complete connection a few remaining new water lines. The work is a part of the ongoing Frederiksted Water Rehabilitation Project.

While water service interruptions are not anticipated on Monday, some customers may experience reduced water pressure from time to time this week as quality tests are performed on the newly installed service lines.

WAPA apologizes for any inconvenience the road closures, traffic detours and water service interruptions may cause. Motorists traversing in and around the work sites are encouraged to proceed with caution for the safety of the crew, pedestrians and other motorists.

The Frederiksted Water Rehabilitation Project featured the replacement of old ductile iron lines with new PVC water lines. When completed, the project is expected to improve both water quality and system reliability across the western end of St. Croix.
