U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA or “Authority”) would like to inform the public of an upcoming road closure on St. Croix related to the Clifton Hill Waterline Rehabilitation Project.

The road closure will be in effect beginning Thursday, March 23, 2023, through Wednesday, April 5, 2023, to allow the Department of Public Works and the Authority to complete waterline installation and road construction. Monday through Friday, the road will be closed between 9 AM to 3:30 PM, and after 6pm as needed. On weekends, the road closure will be active from 9 AM to 6 PM.

As indicated on the map below, the road closure will impact the intersection adjacent to La Guarida Bar & Restaurant that connects to the Melvin H. Evans Highway and continue Northwest approximately four blocks. The road closure will not interfere with through traffic on Melvin H. Evans Highway.

The nearly completed Clifton Hill Waterline Rehabilitation Project will allow for significant improvements to water quality and delivery efficiency.
