Mar 24, 2023

ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – After a successful transfer of the propane storage vessel yesterday for the Wartsila project, pictured above, the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority would like to inform the public of a road closure on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 5:00am through 8:00am from the former Addelita Cancryn Junior High School location to the Randolph Harley Power Plant in Subbase (as indicated on the map above).

This road closure is to allow for the transportation of the final propane storage vessel known as the Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) Bullet Tank. The LPG Bullet Tank which has capacity to hold 30,000 gallons will be used to store the LPG for the new Wartsila reciprocating internal combustion dual-fuel engines.

The road closure should not interfere with traffic on Moravian Highway.

The Authority thanks the community for its cooperation as the Wartsila project is near completion.
