
ST. JOHN, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “Authority”) would like to inform customers and residents on St. John about ongoing water system repairs on Vester Gade.
Today, Friday, May 31, 2024: The Westbound Lane on Vester Gade near Uncle Joe's Barbecue was reopened after a successful excavation for repairs at 3:00 PM.
Tomorrow, Saturday, June 1, 2024: The Vester Gade lane closure will resume from at 10:00 AM to approximately 4:00 PM, so The Authority's Water System Maintenance Crew can complete repairs on the damaged pipe. Due to the repairs, there will be a water service interruption on Vester Gade, affecting areas from the Vester Gade and Prindsens Gade intersection down to Mongoose Junction during the duration of the repairs. The lane closure and water interruption are necessary to ensure efficient completion of repairs and the crew's safety.
Monday, June 3, 2024: The Vester Gade lane closure will resume from 10:00 AM to approximately 4 PM . The Authority's Water System Maintenance will complete excavation efforts and repair the road. There will be no water interruption.
