U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS (July 2, 2024) – The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or the “Authority”) advises the public that the Customer Service and Business offices territory-wide will be closed on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, and Thursday, July 4, 2024, in observance of Emancipation Day and Independence Day, respectively.

The Authority joins in commemorating the emancipation of the enslaved from the former Danish West Indies and celebrating our ancestors' resilience and rich cultural heritage. On July 4, we also reflect on the ideals of liberty and opportunity that define the United States
