The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority wishes to inform the public that construction
activities continue on Midland Road (Route 663) from the Melvin H. Evans Highway
stoplight to the Queen Mary Highway stoplight.
The current road closures are occurring between the entrances at Saldana St. and Ramirez
St. along the Midland Rd. Headed South, traffic will be detoured down Cruz St, Colon St,
Ramirez St, and then back onto Midland Rd., and in the opposite direction when headed
north. The road closures will occur from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily.
Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution in those areas and consider alternate
routes as partial and/or full road closures may be required to complete necessary work.
Flaggers will be on site to safely assist with traffic control. The purpose of the road closure
is to allow WAPA’s contractor, VI Paving, to install underground electrical conduits to
transition the existing overhead service underground.
Further traffic updates will be provided as the construction activities progress.
