U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “Authority”) would like to advise the public that a Water and Power Authority lineman was not involved in an incident that occurred yesterday on St. John as incorrectly reported in the St. Croix Avis on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

A St. Johnian homeowner was injured on Monday, December 12, 2022, while working from a metal ladder trimming a tree when a branch cut from the tree contacted a single phase of the primary line. The homeowner experienced a shock and burn injury to his hand and was transported for medical attention.
