WAPA Committed to Transparency with Legislative Body on Vitol Acquisition

Aug 09, 2023

US Virgin Islands - The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” and/or “Authority”) is pleased to reaffirm its dedication to transparency and open communication. As part of its dedication to transparency, WAPA provided the 35th Legislature through the Office of Senate President Francis with a comprehensive monthly report update last week on the progress through July toward the acquisition of the Propane Supply Infrastructure from Vitol.

The Authority’s commitment to transparency is rooted in its belief that open communication fosters trust and collaboration, ultimately leading to beneficial outcomes for the people of the Virgin Islands. By offering regular updates through these monthly reports, WAPA seeks to ensure that our legislative body is well-informed and engaged throughout the acquisition process.

“We take great pride in our commitment to transparency, which lies at the core of our organizational values,” states Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director Andrew Smith. “By sharing monthly updates, we aim to also empower our key legislative stakeholders with the information they need to actively contribute to our collective success.”

These monthly reports not only showcase WAPA’s dedication to transparency but also demonstrate its unwavering dedication to the principles of accountability and responsible governance. As the Authority continues to work diligently towards execution of the Strategic Plan, it remains steadfast in its promise to keep the Legislature informed every step of the way.
