U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “Authority”) would like to advise the public of a road closure on St. Croix in the Hannah’s Rest area beginning tomorrow, September 12, 2023 through Wednesday, September 13, 2023, for the duration of both days. The road closure will impact the Hannah’s Rest/ Emancipation Drive & Queen Mary Highway/ Centerline Road intersection south of Frederiksted (See accompanying image). Flaggers and signage will be on site.

The road closure is to allow storm drain culvert repairs that were discovered during the Campo Rico Waterline Rehab project tie-in two weeks ago. The Campo Rico Waterline Rehabilitation Project will benefit St. Croix’s Campo Rico community by improving water quality, reducing system wide water loss, and improving infrastructure and system reliability.

The Authority thanks the community for its understanding and patience, as progress towards water infrastructure upgrades continues.
