ST. JOHN, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS (March 20, 2026) — The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “the Authority”) invites St. John community members to a town hall on Tuesday, March 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Julius E. Sprauve School Cafeteria. The event will also be streamed live on WAPA’s Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.

Attendees will hear directly from WAPA about recent outages, ongoing efforts to strengthen service, and steps being taken to improve reliability across St. John. The Authority will provide updates on the island’s transmission system and resilience initiatives, including emergency generation to support extended outages. WAPA will also share important updates on the island’s water system.

Community members will also learn about the upcoming electric meter replacement program, which will provide more consistent billing, faster identification of service issues, and improved access to customer alerts and usage data.

WAPA leadership and subject matter experts will be on hand to present updates and engage directly with residents during a dedicated question-and-answer session.

“This is about having an open, honest conversation with the community,” said WAPA CEO and Executive Director Karl Knight. “We want St. John residents to hear directly from us about what’s happening now and what’s ahead, and to share their questions and concerns.”

WAPA welcomes residents and business owners alike to participate in the town hall and provide input as the Authority continues its efforts to enhance service on St. John.
