U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – August 13, 2024 - The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or the “Authority”) advises the public that, as Tropical Storm Ernesto approaches, our dedicated line crews are working diligently to maintain power across the territory. We are committed to keeping the electricity on as long as it is safe to do so, prioritizing the safety of our employees and the community.
As the storm nears, WAPA’s essential employees across all divisions continue their critical work, ensuring that our systems are prepared and that we respond swiftly to any issues that arise. Our teams are on standby and ready to take necessary actions to protect the electrical grid and water systems during the storm’s impact.
WAPA will provide timely updates on our operations and any potential service disruptions through our website (www.viwapa.vi), social media channels, primarily Facebook and Twitter, and WAPA Alerts via the Everbridge app (Apple Store, Google Play, or Android).
